Elijah
Name: Elijah
Age: 11 years
Breed: Tibetan Spaniel mix
Sex: Male
Size: Small
Adoption fee: $495
Cat friendly: No
Another dog in the home: Yes
Interstate adoption: NSW & ACT only
Elijah’s foster carer has this to say about him.
“Elijah loves to be outside and can most often be found sunning himself in the garden. He gets along well with the other dogs in his foster home, a collection of small golden oldies. On leash Elijah or Eli as he’s affectionately known can be a bit reactive to new dogs but is progressing well with his training.
Being 10 years old, Eli is a bit set in his ways, he knows what he likes and what he doesn’t, he is learning through gentle leadership how to be a well behaved gentleman but he can sometimes be a little bit of a grump so is best in an adult only home.”
Elijah does have some arthritis but after a course of anti-inflammatory injections is feeling much better, his new family would need to be aware of when he might be feeling a little sore and get him a vet check-up. He might benefit from some daily help with something like Rosehip Vital.
Elijah needs access inside when his family are home and has a long coat that requires regular brushing to avoid matting. We know that the perfect retirement home is out there for Eli.
If you meet the criteria and feel like your home might be just right for Elijah, please email a detailed description of your home and lifestyle to info@deniseatpaws.com.au
Nikita-- On Trial
Name: Nikita
Age: 11 years
Breed: Pom X
Sex: Female
Size: Medium
Adoption Fee: $495
Cat Friendly: No
Another dog in the home: Yes
Interstate adoption: NSW & ACT only
Nikita is an 11 year old Pom Mix - gorgeously sassy and quite the personality when you get to know her!
She loves hanging out with you on the couch and having belly rubs but also likes to chase a ball and play with her squeaky toys- the goal being to remove the squeak!!She loves running on the sand and chasing seagulls too.
She is very loving and protective and likes to bark at the neighbourhood dogs barking as if to say “I’m Queen of this Hood”- from the safety of the balcony of course! She likes short walks too -, especially in the sun.
Adoption Criteria:
-Nikita is best suited as the only dog in the home, she likes humans all to herself!

-Despite being a mature lady, Nikita still enjoys a daily stroll.
-A family committed to the veterinary requirements of a senior pet. Despite being in pretty good shape, Nikita will most likely need yearly dental, etc.
-No small children, a mature home is best for this mature lady.

If you think you might be the perfect match for this sassy senior, please email lots of info about your home and lifestyle to info@deniseatpaws.com.au
Buddy and Loki
Name: Buddy and Loki
Age: 6 years
Breed: Beagle Mix
Sex: Male
Size: Medium to Large
Adoption Fee: $800 (Bonded Pair)
Cat Friendly: No
Another dog in the home: No
Interstate adoption: NSW & ACT only
Buddy and Loki are two lovable Beagle mix brothers from different crossbreed litters, they are sweet as sugar and too cute to boot.
Now fully grown (both over 25kgs) they are well past the naughty stage and love to lounge around the house together, playing, having a wrestle, and keeping each other company. Both boys are toilet trained, use a doggy door, and are home during the day alone a few days a week.
Access inside as they please, this is what the boys are accustom to and like this arrangement. Ideally, their new fam will have a decent sized yard for them to also explore. Daily walks and exercise are an absolute must, they enjoy walks and going to the dog park, have loads of energy to burn but are happy to just chill for the remainder of the day.
They have toddlers in the home that they tolerate well, but being hounds, their noses rule their lives and are always looking out for a dropped "snack" or to "share" their food. Older children or teenagers would be more suitable.
These boys are delightfully sweet but are larger dogs (between 25-33kgs) and will require a family that can handle their size, experience with larger dogs is preferred but not essential.
Please read the criteria carefully and if you feel you tick all the boxes and would like to add two handsome lads to your family, please email a detailed description of your home and lifestyle to info@deniseatpaws.com.au

Age: 8 years
Breed: Kelpie x Dachshund
Sex: Female
Size: Medium
Adoption Fee: $800 (Bonded Pair)
Cat Friendly: No
Another dog in the home: No
Interstate adoption: NSW & ACT only
Do you like your ladies with curves and swerves! We’ll check out these voluptuous girls!
Scamp and Tinker came into our care after their beloved dad passed away, they have only known love and you can tell because these two have such sweet, kind natures and the sheer site of their low riding bodies makes you melt.
What type of home are these ladies looking for, keep reading :
Scamp and Tinker are after a retirement home, somewhere they can potter around and be doted upon.
Short strolls and a good diet are needed to get rid of some of those extra kilos... currently Scamp (black and tan) is the heavier of the two and requires some extra motivation to get that body moving.
These girls get along with other animals but are probably best suited to being the only dogs in the home as they sure do like to soak up all the love.
A family committed to their ongoing health, Tinker has arthritis in her hip and requires pain management, ie anti-inflammatory injections.
Access inside, this is what the girls are used to and enjoy. They are housetrained and just want to chill by the couch. A bucketload of pats and butt scratches because... of course!
If you think your home is missing two curvaceous ladies, email us at info@deniseatpaws.com.au detailing your home. If the inn is full, please share and spread the word about these gorgeous girls.

Dell

Breed: Pug
Sex: Female
Size: Small- Medium
Adoption fee: $650
Cat friendly: NA
Another dog in the home: NA
Interstate adoption: NSW upto Newcatle and Canberra
Location: Sydney
R251 000 066
Dell is a lovely, affectionate girl who is 6.5 years old, she has no ongoing health issues except consistent weight management. Dell loves her people but may not be suited to small children as she jumps up and puts quite a bit of weight behind her, she loves to play with her toy Santa and plays tug a war with her human; she would like to sit on the couch next to you and sleeps on your bed like the queen she is!
Dell becomes quite stressed in the company of other dogs so we would prefer that she go to an only dog home. She will be much happier being the one and only.
Dell is toilet trained to use a doggy door and always needs access to fresh water as she puffs herself out quickly with her playful energy. She is happy to go for a short walk every day then is happy to nap afterwards, she also loves to have short bursts of snuggles and plays. Dell is a house dog and must always have access via a doggie door or similar. She is a brachycephalic dog who must always be watched in the heat.
Sadly, Dells owner passed away leaving her with nowhere to go. She has had all of her vet work done and had a major dental!
* Please remember to include as much information as possible when applying to foster to adopt Dell. Home checks are done for all our dogs going into a new home.

Kookie
Name: Kookie
Age: 8 years
Breed: Pomerarian mix
Sex: Male
Size: Small
Adoption fee: $495
Cat friendly: NA
Another dog in the home: Yes
Interstate adoption: NSW and ACT Only
Location: Sydney
R251 000 066
Kookie is an 8-year-old ginger Pomeranian who adores his humans and brings joy wherever he goes. He is affectionate, snuggly and very easy to have around. His favourite place at night is tucked under the blankets with you, and during the day he loves curling up beside you on the couch. If you pause the pats for too long, he will gently nudge you to remind you he is still there.
Kookie is in foster care in Sydney and can be rehomed south to Canberra and north to Newcastle. He is happiest in a home where someone is around often. He loves company and enjoys having another small dog or two around for comfort and companionship. He needs indoor access at all times with a doggie door or similar because he loves exploring the garden and stretching his legs.
He has shown both fear and delight around children, so any kids in the home need to be calm, gentle and able to interact appropriately with small dogs. He loves people and will happily seek out cuddles.
Kookie gets excited the moment the lead appears. He can be reactive to other dogs on walks, but he has improved hugely in foster care with kind, consistent training. He did not have much exposure to the outside world before joining Denise at Paws Inc. so ongoing training will help him continue to grow in confidence. He is smart, quick to learn and adapts beautifully to new routines.
Kookie has epilepsy and will stay on medication for life, costing less than ten dollars a month. His medication works very well, and he takes it easily in a small piece of cheese at breakfast and dinner. Since a specialist adjusted his treatment, his already mild symptoms have reduced even further. This condition does not affect his quality of life.
Kookie is currently in Normanhurst living with two other small dogs and the occasional short-term visitor. He is relaxed, social and has zero food aggression, happily sharing his eating space. His groomer Emma adores him and he visits regularly to keep his beautiful coat knot free. He enjoys being brushed at home and finds it calming.
Kookie is a sweet, gentle, affectionate little dog who radiates happiness. He loves being close to his people and will make a wonderful companion for a family who includes him in their daily life.
* Please remember to include as much information as possible when applying to adopt Kookie. Home checks are done for all our dogs going into a new home.

Billy
Name: Billy
Age: 7 years ( 1/1/2019)
Breed: Pom-Chi
Sex: Male
Size: Small
Adoption fee: $400
Cat friendly: NA
Another dog in the home: Yes
Interstate adoption: NSW upto Newcatle and Canberra
Location: Sydney
R251 000 066
Billy is a happy and sweet natured little dog who displays some behavior's typical of chihuahuas so breed experience would be well regarded. He can be shy but loves to be anywhere you are.
He loves cuddling on the couch, is fully housetrained (used to a dog door/open door) and good in the car. A great companion for anyone working from home or simply retired, he will wait for you to play ball with him when you can. He plays with enthusiasm, bringing balls back to you although he tends to chew tennis balls a little too fondly … he follows you around the house with the ball in his mouth!! He also enjoys toys and sits on command. He can be brushed without issue but with a short coat he does shed so regular bathing and daily grooming will help.
Although Billy walks well on lead and is friendly when he sees small dogs, he is scared of dogs bigger than him so is not suitable for dog parks or to be put into a face-to-face meeting with other larger dogs.
Billy sleeps soundly through the night in his own bed.
The perfect home for Billy would be a quieter adult home either on his own or with another friendly small dog. He doesn’t like the hustle and bustle of crowded areas and would not enjoy cafes or dog parks.
We will do a meet and greet with any potential doggie friends and the family.
* Please remember to include as much information as possible when applying to foster to adopt Billy. Home checks are done for all our dogs going into a new home.
If you meet the above criteria and think that your home might be just what Billy is looking for, please fill the application form by clicking the button below ↓ or the QR code at the the bottom of the page.

Sex: Female
Size: Small
Adoption fee: $495
Cat friendly: NA
Another dog in the home: NA
Interstate adoption: NSW upto Newcatle and Canberra
Location: Sydney

Edith has had a traumatic start to life spending months in a crate when nobody wanted her. We have no idea why; we love her and all her quirks. She came to DAP and quickly realised what care and love was.
She has been in foster care for 6 months and whilst there have been challenges, she is very slowly learning to trust and not be so reactive, she is currently on medication to help her with her anxiety.
She is looking for her own home with person with rescue experience who can love her exactly as she is and continue her force free training. For this reason, we are looking for a quiet home with no children.
If you want a dog that doesn’t get on the lounge or the bed. Sleeps all night in her own bed. She is the girl for you. Edith enjoys her walks and sun baking in the yard.

Bindi
Name: Bindi
Age: 1-2 years
Breed: Aussie Shepherd x Poodle
Sex: Female
Size: Large (26 kg weight)
Adoption fee: $1500
Cat friendly: NA
Another dog in the home: Yes
Interstate adoption: NSW upto Newcatle and Canberra
Location: Mid north coast
R251 000 066
IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN BINDI PLEASE READ HER BIO THOROUGHLY. WE WILL EXCEPT APPLICATIONS FROM MID NORTH COAST DOWN; HER TRAINER WILL BRING BINDI TO HER NEW HOME AND CONTINUE TO OFFER SUPPORT AS SHE SETTLES IN. CITY LIVING IS NOT GOIND TO SUIT BINDI SHE NEEDS MORE OF A COUNTRY ENVIROMENT.
Bindi is a stunning Australian Shepherd x Poodle with piercing blue eyes and a big heart. She’s full of energy, intelligence, and enthusiasm for life, a true working breed mix who thrives with daily mental and physical challenges.
Bindi came into care over a year ago and has been living with her trainer, Jess. When she first arrived, she was overwhelmed and unsure of the world due to a lack of socialisation in her previous home. Over time, with patience, structure, and love, Bindi has made incredible progress. Now, she’s ready to find her forever home — one that understands her breed-driven needs and is committed to continuing her journey.
Bindi’s Favorite Activities
-Frisbee with tricks: A perfect mix of fun and mental stimulation.
-Tug games with obedience: Adding commands keeps her sharp and focused.
-Herding games: She loves her herding balls (always supervised, as she’ll play until she overheats!).
-Scent work: She’s started food-searching games and shows great promise in scent detection.
-Agility and trick training: Bindi loves to learn and perform new tricks, anything that challenges her mind and body.
-Beach runs and hikes: She enjoys stretching her legs and exploring nature.
Training & Skills
Bindi is a clever, driven girl who loves to work and learn. She currently knows:
-Sit
-Drop
-Recall
-Marker words and windows
-Weave
-Orbit
-Catch
-Around
-Leave it
Bindi thrives on structure and consistency. She currently does 4x 15–20 min training sessions daily, plus a bush hike or beach run, with one rest day per week (on which she still enjoys shorter sessions and enrichment).
She’s crate trained, and her new family should continue to reinforce that skill.
Ideal Home
-Bindi would do best:
-As the only dog in the home Bindi can be dog selective and benefits from one-on-one attention.
-With older children (15+) only, as she doesn’t realise her own strength.
-In a quiet, structured environment, preferably on acreage or a property, not in a busy city/suburb.
-With someone who is home more often than away and passionate about training and rehabilitation.
-With an adopter who can provide rules, structure, and consistency as she flourishes when boundaries are clear.
-She’s noise- and movement-sensitive (both common in her breed), so introductions to new people must be calm and controlled. When meeting her, it’s best to stay still, avoid direct eye contact, and let her come to you. Once she trusts you, she’ll melt your heart – leaning in for affection, wagging her whole body, and rolling over for belly rubs.
Grooming & Care
-Professional grooming every 6–8 weeks
-Daily brushing to prevent matting
-Enjoys chew toys like pig ears, bones, nylon chews, food puzzles, Kongs with frozen meat, and lickimats
Bindi’s Perfect Match
We’re looking for someone special, who kind, patient, and committed. Someone who sees beyond Bindi’s beautiful looks and recognises the incredible working dog beneath. A home where she’ll be given the time, love, and structure she needs to thrive.
Bindi has come so far on her journey and has so much love to give. With the right person, she’ll blossom into the loyal, affectionate, and talented companion she was always meant to be.
We will only respond to enquires that sound perfect for Bindi's needs.
* Please remember to include as much information as possible when applying to foster to adopt Bindi. Home checks are done for all our dogs going into a new home.

“As you can see from my profile picture, I am a very good-looking boy, I’m just a baby at 14 months old so am still learning things, but my foster Mum says I am smart and catch on quickly.
I love my food, dry food, and meatballs, with two small meals per day. I love treats too so if you need to if you need to teach me anything = Show me the treats."
"I am amazing on lead and will trot next to my foster sister. I also enjoy a good run around the oval.
I love my enclosed backyard and chase little lizards which keeps me occupied for hours (I don’t catch any) I’m inquisitive, so make sure there’s nowhere for me to escape!"
"My perfect home will be with an ACTIVE FEMALE who will walk me at least once a day because I only have short legs.
My foster Mum says I have a beautiful temperament and I’m always calm and relaxed when I am with her. I do however get a little nervous AROUND MEN and BOYS SCARE ME so I bark at them and try to chase them away so I will do best in an ALL-FEMALE HOME. (This doesn’t mean any grandkids-supervised visits I’ll be fine. I am not snappy, just scared.)"
"Whilst I enjoy laying outside in the sun, I would not like to sleep outside. I am a very clean little boy and love sleeping snuggled up on my foster Mums bed. She puts the fleece blanket over me, and I stay there all night."
"CAR TRIPS – I love these too. My foster Mum bought me a booster seat and its great because I can look out the window. I am a fantastic camper too."
"My foster Mum has shown me many new things and I’ve taken it all in my stride because I trust her, and she makes me feel safe. Once I learn to trust my new (Forever) Mum, I’ll be the same.
I would prefer no stairs; I climb the cat tree and the dining room table!"
Another dog in my home will be best for me.
A family who doesn’t go out to work for hours on end and leave me and my doggie friend all alone for a long time."

Celine
Name: Celine
Age: 8 Years
Breed: French bulldog
Sex: Female
Size: Medium
Adoption fee: $450
Cat friendly: NA
Another dog in the home: Yes
Interstate adoption: NSW and ACT Only
Location: Sydney
R251 000 066
Celine was rescued from Campbeltown Pound in Sydney some time ago. She came into the pound with her daughter Gracie – both dogs were in horrific condition, and it was obvious to anyone that they had been used for breeding and looked to have had many, many litters! Both Gracie and Celine have required various surgeries and medication to bring them back to good health and are now enjoying a good life with their foster carers.
Celine is a very sweet dog, she has a beautiful personality with her humans, is very obedient and loves the dog she is living with. She goes out on walks around the neighbourhood and has been to the beach a few times and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We believe that the best home for Celine will be as an only dog, she is a bit of a couch potato these days and does enjoy laying in her bed in the company of her human or toddling around the garden enjoying the cool breeze blowing in her face.
Celine is very much a house dog and must always have access inside, she does love children so a home with kids would also be nice for her. She is on the quieter side so a home with a retired couple would also be a nice option for her.
* Please remember to include as much information as possible when applying to adopt Celine. Home checks are done for all our dogs going into foster care or a new home.

Billy
