Elijah
Name: Elijah
Age: 11 years
Breed: Tibetan Spaniel mix
Sex: Male
Size: Small
Adoption fee: $495
Cat friendly: No
Another dog in the home: Yes
Interstate adoption: NSW & ACT only
Elijah’s foster carer has this to say about him.
“Elijah loves to be outside and can most often be found sunning himself in the garden. He gets along well with the other dogs in his foster home, a collection of small golden oldies. On leash Elijah or Eli as he’s affectionately known can be a bit reactive to new dogs but is progressing well with his training.
Being 10 years old, Eli is a bit set in his ways, he knows what he likes and what he doesn’t, he is learning through gentle leadership how to be a well behaved gentleman but he can sometimes be a little bit of a grump so is best in an adult only home.”
Elijah does have some arthritis but after a course of anti-inflammatory injections is feeling much better, his new family would need to be aware of when he might be feeling a little sore and get him a vet check-up. He might benefit from some daily help with something like Rosehip Vital.
Elijah needs access inside when his family are home and has a long coat that requires regular brushing to avoid matting. We know that the perfect retirement home is out there for Eli.
If you meet the criteria and feel like your home might be just right for Elijah, please email a detailed description of your home and lifestyle to info@deniseatpaws.com.au

Name: Nikita
Age: 11 years
Breed: Pom X
Sex: Female

Another dog in the home: Yes
Interstate adoption: NSW & ACT only
Nikita is an 11 year old Pom Mix - gorgeously sassy and quite the personality when you get to know her!
She loves hanging out with you on the couch and having belly rubs but also likes to chase a ball and play with her squeaky toys- the goal being to remove the squeak!!She loves running on the sand and chasing seagulls too.
She is very loving and protective and likes to bark at the neighbourhood dogs barking as if to say “I’m Queen of this Hood”- from the safety of the balcony of course! She likes short walks too -, especially in the sun.
Adoption Criteria:
-Nikita is best suited as the only dog in the home, she likes humans all to herself!

Buddy and Loki
Name: Buddy and Loki
Age: 6 years
Breed: Beagle Mix
Sex: Male
Size: Medium to Large
Adoption Fee: $800 (Bonded Pair)
Cat Friendly: No
Another dog in the home: No
Interstate adoption: NSW & ACT only
Buddy and Loki are two lovable Beagle mix brothers from different crossbreed litters, they are sweet as sugar and too cute to boot.
Now fully grown (both over 25kgs) they are well past the naughty stage and love to lounge around the house together, playing, having a wrestle, and keeping each other company. Both boys are toilet trained, use a doggy door, and are home during the day alone a few days a week.
Access inside as they please, this is what the boys are accustom to and like this arrangement. Ideally, their new fam will have a decent sized yard for them to also explore. Daily walks and exercise are an absolute must, they enjoy walks and going to the dog park, have loads of energy to burn but are happy to just chill for the remainder of the day.
They have toddlers in the home that they tolerate well, but being hounds, their noses rule their lives and are always looking out for a dropped "snack" or to "share" their food. Older children or teenagers would be more suitable.
These boys are delightfully sweet but are larger dogs (between 25-33kgs) and will require a family that can handle their size, experience with larger dogs is preferred but not essential.
Please read the criteria carefully and if you feel you tick all the boxes and would like to add two handsome lads to your family, please email a detailed description of your home and lifestyle to info@deniseatpaws.com.au
Tinker and Scamp---ON trial
Name: Tinker and Scamp
Age: 8 years
Breed: Kelpie x Dachshund
Sex: Female
Size: Medium
Adoption Fee: $800 (Bonded Pair)
Cat Friendly: No
Another dog in the home: No
Interstate adoption: NSW & ACT only
Do you like your ladies with curves and swerves! We’ll check out these voluptuous girls!
Scamp and Tinker came into our care after their beloved dad passed away, they have only known love and you can tell because these two have such sweet, kind natures and the sheer site of their low riding bodies makes you melt.
What type of home are these ladies looking for, keep reading :
Scamp and Tinker are after a retirement home, somewhere they can potter around and be doted upon.
Short strolls and a good diet are needed to get rid of some of those extra kilos... currently Scamp (black and tan) is the heavier of the two and requires some extra motivation to get that body moving.
These girls get along with other animals but are probably best suited to being the only dogs in the home as they sure do like to soak up all the love.
A family committed to their ongoing health, Tinker has arthritis in her hip and requires pain management, ie anti-inflammatory injections.
Access inside, this is what the girls are used to and enjoy. They are housetrained and just want to chill by the couch. A bucketload of pats and butt scratches because... of course!
If you think your home is missing two curvaceous ladies, email us at info@deniseatpaws.com.au detailing your home. If the inn is full, please share and spread the word about these gorgeous girls.

Teagan
Adopt MeName: Teagan
Age: 7 years
Breed: Foxie x Jack Russell
Sex: Female
Size: Small
Adoption fee: $400
Cat friendly: NA
Another dog in the home: Yes
Interstate adoption: NSW upto Newcatle and Canberra
Location: Sydney
R251 000 066
Teegan is a sweet Mini Fox Terrier X who is 7 years old, weighs 6.3kgs. She has a short, smooth coat and is a friendly, relaxed and gentle little companion.
Teegan was the much-loved dog of an elderly couple who made the difficult decision to surrender her, as they felt they could no longer give her the care and activity she deserves.
Teegan is gentle and playful with small dogs she trusts and enjoys calm, gentle people. She has not been introduced to small children or large/boisterous dogs, so she would be best suited to a home with primary school-aged children and over, and small friendly dogs.
Teegan took a few weeks to settle into foster care (it was a very big change for her), but she has adjusted beautifully. She now calmly shares with two other Terriers and an energetic young “Oodle”, enjoys gradually increased walks (now up to 1km when it’s not too hot), is learning to manage steps and ramps, and has even started visiting the dog park.
She travels well in the car using a dog seatbelt and well-fitted harness, and sleeps settled overnight inside on a soft dog bed. Teegan isn’t obsessive with toys but will play when she feels like it.
Teegan has already started losing weight in foster care and is doing well. Her new family must be committed to carefully monitoring her diet and continuing regular, suitable exercise to prevent her from gaining too much weight again, so she can stay comfortable, active and happy.
* Please remember to include as much information as possible when applying to adopt Teagan. Home checks are done for all our dogs going into a new home.
If you meet the above criteria and think that your home might be just what Teagan is looking for, please fill the application form by clicking the button below ↓ or the QR code at the the bottom of the page.

Billy
Adopt meName: Billy
Age: 7 years
Breed: Pom-Chi
Sex: Male
Size: Small
Adoption fee: $400
Cat friendly: NA
Another dog in the home: Yes
Interstate adoption: NSW upto Newcatle and Canberra
Location: Sydney
R251 000 066
Billy is a Chihuahua x Pomeranian who has just celebrated his 7th birthday and is ready for a fresh start. He is a sweet, sensitive little man whose owner has made the difficult but loving decision to rehome him, recognising that their busy lifestyle isn’t the right match for his needs.
Billy shows behaviours typical of the Chihuahua breed, so we are seeking a foster to adopt who has experience, confidence, and a calm presence to help him transition into his next chapter.
Billy previously lived in a unit and wasn’t walked often, but he has made lovely progress and now enjoys gentle outings. He will thrive in a quiet, calm home where there are no noisy children. A home with a retiree or single person would be lovely for him as he is a great little companion dog.
What Billy does well
• Fully housetrained (with access to an open door)
• Great traveller and settles nicely in the car
• Loves toys and enjoys playtime
• Knows “sit”
• Is good with grooming
• Walks well on lead in quiet areas.
Billy prefers to go out walking where there is not a lot of noise and barking dogs as this can make him a little nervous. Dogs' parks are not a good place for him as he is a quiet, reserved little dog who loves to potter along at his own pace with his human. Billy doesn't need another dog in his home as he bonds quickly with his owner and that's all he needs.
* Please remember to include as much information as possible when applying to foster to adopt Billy. Home checks are done for all our dogs going into a new home.
If you meet the above criteria and think that your home might be just what Billy is looking for, please fill the application form by clicking the button below ↓ or the QR code at the the bottom of the page.

Clover
Adopt MeName: Clover
Age: 9 years
Breed: MalteseX Shih Tzu
Sex: Female
Size: Small
Adoption fee: $495
Cat friendly: NA
Another dog in the home: Yes
Interstate adoption: NSW upto Newcatle and Canberra
Location: Central Coast
R251 000 066
Clover is a truly delightful, joyful, and affectionate little girl with a big love for life. She is happiest when playing with her doggy friends and will choose canine companionship over toys every time, so a playful dog friend in her new home is essential. When Clover came to us she required a substantial dental, the vet advised doing the dental in 2 stages as it would have been to much for her, she will have the second dental on 7th January 2026.
One of Clover’s most endearing traits is her adorable habit of sitting upright like a meerkat on the floor, the sofa, or wherever she happens to be! Despite her playful nature, she is very quiet. Her carer has not heard her bark at all during her time in care, even when other dogs are barking.
Clover adores affection and thrives on cuddles, lap time, and gentle hand play. She weighs just under 7kg and can be strong on the lead, with some reactivity at times, so ongoing lead training would be beneficial. She absolutely loves meeting new people on walks and is just as enthusiastic with visitors at home often hopping straight onto the sofa for a close-up cuddle session.
Some everyday experiences appear to be new to Clover. Lead walking and eating or drinking from bowls are things she is still adjusting to. She prefers to eat from a licki mat (which will be provided at adoption) and is gradually learning to drink from bowls.
Clover is housetrained and prefers having access to an open door. She will sit patiently to let you know when she needs to go in or out and could easily be retrained to use a dog door. At night, she sleeps soundly in her own bed beside her carer’s bed.
Clover has not yet met children or cats while in care, so compatibility would need to be assessed. She can give gentle “love nips” during play, so a home without young children is recommended to avoid misunderstandings.
Clover is a loving, social little dog who would thrive in a home where she can enjoy companionship, affection, and plenty of playtime with a canine friend.
* Please remember to include as much information as possible when applying to adopt Clover. Home checks are done for all our dogs going into a new home.
If you meet the above criteria and think that your home might be just what Clover is looking for, please fill the application form by clicking the button below ↓ or the QR code at the the bottom of the page.

She has been in foster care for 6 months and whilst there have been challenges, she is very slowly learning to trust and not be so reactive, she is currently on medication to help her with her anxiety.

“As you can see from my profile picture, I am a very good-looking boy, I’m just a baby at 14 months old so am still learning things, but my foster Mum says I am smart and catch on quickly.
I love my food, dry food, and meatballs, with two small meals per day. I love treats too so if you need to if you need to teach me anything = Show me the treats."
"I am amazing on lead and will trot next to my foster sister. I also enjoy a good run around the oval.
I love my enclosed backyard and chase little lizards which keeps me occupied for hours (I don’t catch any) I’m inquisitive, so make sure there’s nowhere for me to escape!"
"My perfect home will be with an ACTIVE FEMALE who will walk me at least once a day because I only have short legs.
My foster Mum says I have a beautiful temperament and I’m always calm and relaxed when I am with her. I do however get a little nervous AROUND MEN and BOYS SCARE ME so I bark at them and try to chase them away so I will do best in an ALL-FEMALE HOME. (This doesn’t mean any grandkids-supervised visits I’ll be fine. I am not snappy, just scared.)"
"Whilst I enjoy laying outside in the sun, I would not like to sleep outside. I am a very clean little boy and love sleeping snuggled up on my foster Mums bed. She puts the fleece blanket over me, and I stay there all night."
"CAR TRIPS – I love these too. My foster Mum bought me a booster seat and its great because I can look out the window. I am a fantastic camper too."
"My foster Mum has shown me many new things and I’ve taken it all in my stride because I trust her, and she makes me feel safe. Once I learn to trust my new (Forever) Mum, I’ll be the same.
I would prefer no stairs; I climb the cat tree and the dining room table!"
Another dog in my home will be best for me.
A family who doesn’t go out to work for hours on end and leave me and my doggie friend all alone for a long time."

Kookie
Adopt MeName: Kookie
Age: 6 years
Breed: Pomerarian mix
Sex: Male
Size: Small
Adoption fee: $600
Cat friendly: NA
Another dog in the home: Yes
Interstate adoption: NSW and ACT Only
Location: Sydney
R251 000 066
If you love lively little ginger dogs, then meet Kookie, a 3.6kg bundle of Pomeranian mix!! This gorgeous little dog is a loving, snuggly little boy who absolutely dotes on his humans and loves life in general. He is extremely affectionate and low maintenance, and when bedtime calls, his great joy is to scramble under the blankets with you at night; daytime cuddles on the couch are another of his favourite things – and you had better be quick or else you will be getting insistent nose nudges if you aren’t.
Kookie would be best with a family where someone is home often as all dogs want and need company and attention. He does have some separation anxiety but as his confidence grows this has diminished markedly. Another small dogs (or dogs) would be good as most dogs prefer having their own kind around. He must have access to outside via a doggie door or similar as he is a young, active dog who loves running around and exploring the garden. He has shown both fear and delight at the attention of children, so if there are children in the household, they must be aware of this, learn how to interact with him and know how to be around small dogs. He does seek out “his” people for cuddles and affection.
He loves his walks, getting happy and excited when the lead comes out. He is somewhat reactive to other dogs while out walking, but since being in foster care has improved massively with expert, kind and consistent training. Kookie did not have much exposure to the outside world before coming into DAP Rescue so ongoing training is a must for his and his new family’s happiness and wellbeing. He is very intelligent, and his foster parent is very impressed by how quickly he learns new behaviours and adapts to new situations.
Kookie is on epilepsy medication for life with the cost being less than $10 per month. His medication is working perfectly, he takes it easily in a bit of cheese at breakfast and dinner and this condition has no effect on his quality of life. Epilepsy does seem to raise its head in Pomeranians. Since his medication has been adapted by a specialist, his very mild symptoms have virtually disappeared.
Kookie is currently residing in Normanhurst and is much loved by his foster parent who will be very sad to see him go but knows that we will find the best home for him. Kookie is currently living with three other little dogs as well as the occasional short-term visitor. He is quite unfazed. He has zero food aggression sharing his eating space with the other dogs.
Kookie is truly such a delightful little dog who exudes love and happiness. He is a great favourite with his groomer Emma whom he visits regularly to keep his beautiful coat knot free and comfortable. In between grooms, bushing him is so enjoyable and he loves it too.
# Please Do Not apply for Kookie if your family is not completely suitable.
* Please remember to include as much information as possible when applying to adopt Kookie. Home checks are done for all our dogs going into a new home.
If you meet the above criteria and think that your home might be just what Kookie is looking for, please fill the application form by clicking the button below ↓ or the QR code at the the bottom of the page.

Celine
Adopt MeName: Celine
Age: 8 Years
Breed: French bulldog
Sex: Female
Size: Medium
Adoption fee: $450
Cat friendly: NA
Another dog in the home: Yes
Interstate adoption: NSW and ACT Only
Location: Sydney
R251 000 066
Celine was rescued from Campbeltown Pound in Sydney some time ago. She came into the pound with her daughter Gracie – both dogs were in horrific condition, and it was obvious to anyone that they had been used for breeding and looked to have had many, many litters! Both Gracie and Celine have required various surgeries and medication to bring them back to good health and are now enjoying a good life with their foster carers.
Celine is a very sweet dog, she has a beautiful personality with her humans, is very obedient and loves the dog she is living with. She goes out on walks around the neighbourhood and has been to the beach a few times and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We believe that the best home for Celine will be as an only dog, she is a bit of a couch potato these days and does enjoy laying in her bed in the company of her human or toddling around the garden enjoying the cool breeze blowing in her face.
Celine is very much a house dog and must always have access inside, she does love children so a home with kids would also be nice for her. She is on the quieter side so a home with a retired couple would also be a nice option for her.
* Please remember to include as much information as possible when applying to adopt Celine. Home checks are done for all our dogs going into foster care or a new home.

Meet Pixel, an adorable 15-week-old Maltese mix puppy who is about to start on the journey to her forever home. Despite a challenging start, her story is now one of hope and resilience. At 8 weeks of age, Pixel was purchased from a backyard breeder by an elderly woman in her 80s. Unfortunately, the woman suffered a heart attack shortly after her purchase which saw Pixel confined to a small pen for the next 7 weeks with no opportunity for walks, no time was spent playing with her new owner, no cuddles and no socialisation.
Pixel was in the midst of the most critical period of her young life, the first 16 weeks of a puppy's life is when they learn how to play, love and be loved, toilet trained, socialised with humans and other dogs etc. Instead, Pixel got zero attention after being taken from her Mum and siblings, such heartbreaking stuff for such a sweet little puppy.
Pixel thrives in a quiet, nurturing environment and is best suited to a home with adults or a couple. She is incredibly timid around new people and will require a patient family committed to helping her build confidence. Due to her shy nature, she is not ideal for busy outings such as school pick-ups, sporting events, or trips to cafés. While Pixel does not respond aggressively when frightened, she will cower, tremble, or occasionally have accidents when overwhelmed.
Pixel adores the company of other dogs and finds great comfort in their presence. She loves playing and cuddling with her foster sibling, often relying on them for reassurance and a sense of security. Having another friendly dog in the household is a must for Pixel, as they help her feel more confident and at ease.
She enjoys bursts of playful energy in the evenings and delights in chasing and jumping with her foster sibling. At night, Pixel sleeps peacefully in a crate but would love nothing more than to sleep next to her doggy companion.
Pixel recently experienced her first walk and is making steady progress. She feels more comfortable in quiet parks, as passing people or loud noises in residential areas still frighten her. She walks best when accompanied by her foster sibling and is gaining confidence with each outing.
Since joining her foster home, the primary focus has been on earning Pixel's trust. While toilet training and basic commands are in progress, Pixel's new family will need to continue this training journey. She is sensitive to loud noises and door knocks, often retreating to a safe space when startled.
What Pixel Needs:
-A quiet and patient household willing to support her emotional development.
-A friendly and understanding dog as a companion.
-Indoor access at all times (she does not shed).
-A family committed to continuing her basic training and socialisation.
Pixel is a gentle soul with a lot of love to give, especially with the right guidance and care. With time and patience, this special puppy will surely flourish into a confident and happy dog.
# Please Do Not apply for Pixel if your family is not completely suitable.

Meet Sully – Our Lovable 3-Year-Old Beagle!
Sully has come so far since joining foster care! Once isolated in his previous home, he’s now thriving in a loving family environment with kids and other dogs. He’s learned how to be part of a pack, and he’s absolutely blossomed.
What makes Sully special?
- Super affectionate—loves being petted (he’ll even paw at you for more!)
- Fully toilet-trained
- Smart as a whip

A few quirks:
- Sully prefers female dogs over males

- Dog parks aren’t his thing—unless it’s a quiet time with small dogs
- Watch out—he’s a food container escape artist (classic Beagle behavior!)

Sully would thrive as an only dog or with a small, calm female dog. He’d love a home with teenagers who’ll play ball with him, or a retired couple who enjoy daily walks, an active single looking for a loyal companion. He’s got a lot of energy and will need regular exercise!

Meet Chippy (aka Chipolata)
Chippy is a tiny two kilo rescue chihuahua with a huge heart, she is around 9 years of age. From the moment she arrived in foster care, she settled in with zero fuss and an abundance of love. She is incredibly affectionate and forms strong bonds quickly, making her a beautiful little companion.
She is fully house trained, well behaved indoors and only uses her voice when someone arrives at the door. Chippy enjoys her meals, greets you with genuine enthusiasm and will happily follow you around like a little shadow, always keen to be near her people.
She has solid recall, gets along well with other small dogs and is calm and easy to manage in the home. While she has not been tested with cats, she has shown a gentle and adaptable nature. In the evenings, she is just as content curled up on the lounge for movie nights as she is pottering around during the day.

Interstate adoption: NSW upto Newcatle and Canberra

Clover
Name: Clover

Max and Mia are a beautiful, bonded pair of Schnauzer x Poodles, they are brother and sister and have shared their entire lives together. Max and Mia are deeply connected and provide wonderful companionship for one another, so they are seeking a home where they can stay together.
They are exceptionally well-mannered dogs with gentle, loving temperaments. Never aggressive, they are both dog- and cat-social and fit easily into a calm, caring household.
Max and Mia love their daily walks and still enjoy getting out and about, but they are equally content spending time indoors relaxing with their people. They must have access to the house at all times, as they are very much part of the family and enjoy being close to their humans.
They require regular grooming to keep them comfortable and looking their best, and they cope well with handling and care. Used to a simple routine, they eat well and are accustomed to morning and evening meals.
Affectionate and easygoing, they adore cuddles on the lounge and are happy to settle quietly when needed. Both respond to their names and basic commands, making them a joy to live with.

She has been in foster care for 6 months and whilst there have been challenges, she is very slowly learning to trust and not be so reactive, she is currently on medication to help her with her anxiety.
She is looking for her own home with person with rescue experience who can love her exactly as she is and continue her force free training. For this reason, we are looking for a quiet home with no children.
If you want a dog that doesn’t get on the lounge or the bed. Sleeps all night in her own bed. She is the girl for you. Edith enjoys her walks and sun baking in the yard.

Kookie
Name: Kookie
